My latest solo show, “Nearby Wonders,” opened February 3 at the Chamber Gallery of Art – Salem, OH. This show includes 28 photos I made on various trips within drivinging distance of Youngstown, OH. It closes February 27.

Even after being in quite a few Butler Institute of American Art shows it’s still a thrill to be accepted (especially since it took me 14 years to get my first acceptance!). “Stand Out From the Crowd” is currently hanging at the Butler as part of the Area Artists Annual. Only 100 pieces out of the more than 700 entered were accepted. That’s an honor I don’t take lightly. The show closes February 15.

I’ve been fascinated with the bark on a holly tree in a nearby park since I started photographing it in the summer. The itch to get out there and shoot some more was too great, and yesterday I went back — in 32 degree temps! I really like the one below. I’m also experimenting with some new photo sizes. This will be printed 10″ x 20″.
