I love Lake Erie! I love to put my feet in it, I love to walk along it, and I love to photograph it and the surrounding environment. I’ve been to Walnut Beach, which sits right on Lake Erie in Ashtabula, Ohio many times. I’ve even been there in the winter. But I’d never been when Lake Erie was mostly frozen, as it has been this year. I really wanted to see it and was exited to make the trip Feb. 1.

It’s hard to describe and I’m not sure photos do it justice. It was otherwordly. To see what’s normally moving water frozen in peaks and mounds was incredible. It was also freezing! But I was dressed for the weather and didn’t stay outside of my warm car for very long at a time.
